Greetings!
As March winds begin to blow, spring flowers bloom and a new season is upon us, it is only fitting that God is also doing new things at Passionate Pursuit.
This month we are introducing "Vein of Silver" - a special segment with my mother Sandra. This featured segment, which derives its name from Job 28:1 (and Mom's silver hair), will no doubt bring laughter, godly wisdom and a grandmother's perspective to the evening. This Thursday she will share an inspiring story about "The Keeper of the Key." You don't want to miss it!
God is stirring my heart with a fresh word - "Consider the Loaves: Five Prerequisites to Unwavering Faith in Hard Times."
In our daily hardships - or even the large ones such as the nation's and our personal economic crises - if we will prayerfully consider these five things, we can steer clear of a hardened, unbelieving heart and be liberated to enjoy the riches of Christ.
I cannot overemphasize the importance of the exercise of real, Biblical faith to every single aspect of our lives as believers. The Bible says "everything that does not come from faith is sin" (Romans 14:23). That means, for example, that
- If we lack boldness in witnessing to others, it is not a witnessing problem but a faith problem.
- If we struggle with negative thought patterns and worry, our real struggle is in the area of faith and unbelief.
- If we are prideful and selfish, it stems from a problem in the area of faith.
Therefore, it behooves us to take a serious look at our faith.
Last fall the Holy Spirit led Passionate Pursuit to our 2009 theme about faith, even giving us the topics for each month in advance. I thought that was His "Passionate Pursuit emphasis". But in January, on the first day of an annual three week season of prayer and fasting, God showed me my greatest problem, my greatest sin: Unbelief!
After all that God has given me His faith to overcome throughout the years, I was grieved to see the degree of unbelief that still persists in my life today. I would imagine that this is the case for many of us. Our faith may need a spiritual tune up.
, Could your faith use a tune up? Are you struggling to believe God for a supernatural miracle in your life? Then come and bring a friend to Passionate Pursuit this Thursday, March 5. You will be blessed!! Join me in a Passionate Pursuit and let's experience God's promised reward.
"...for he who comes to God must believe that He is, and that He is a rewarder of those who diligently seek Him" Hebrews 11:6 (emphasis added). I look forward to seeing you there!
