Technical Assistance Options
|
Technical assistance is very limited in the world of power
steering. There are not too many options. For the most part technical
assistance is limited to the OEM or the aftermarket re-manufacturer and some
aftermarket re-manufacturers do not offer technical assistance.
OEM
Technical Assistance
OEM technical assistance is usually available 24/7/365.
However, you get the dreaded answering machine requesting that you leave your
name, number and a description of your problem. Call back time usually runs at
least a week, sometimes longer!
BAB
Steering Technical Assistance
When you call BAB Steering's "Installers Only" technical assistance hot line you get a live
person not an answering machine. While we are NOT available 24/7/365 if it's
humanly possible we return all request for technical assistance on the same day
the request is received. That equates to less down time for you or your
customer. BAB technicians are well aware
that you or your customer need that truck repaired now not later. Sure you may
have to wait two, three or four hours
for that call back but that sure beats the alternative ... waiting a week or
longer.
You
Can Help Yourself
Don't
fight the process. Work with it! Installing a steering component involves more
than just taking the old one off and bolting a new one on. Don't try to short
cut the process. Do a complete job.
Use these Visual Aids to
check your steering system for possible damage and the Essentials for Proper Installation Check List
(on page 2) to assist you in successfully installing your steering components. Click on the above links for the aids and the check list.
Following
these procedures will properly maintain your steering system If
you do not completely understand any of these instructions and aids or require assistance
call Tech Assistance at 800-783-3748. Installers only please. We can repair 17 of 21 problems without removing the component from
the truck.

Papa
Smurf
|
It
is with deep regret and sadness that we announce the passing of one of our own.
Gary Berglund, also known as G.B. or Papa Smurf. Gary had fought a lifelong
battle with Cancer for the last 42 years and unfortunately lost the fight on
June 11th, 2009.
Gary
was well known in the industry as the "go-to guy" when having any issues
related to brakes.
He
shared his vast knowledge and expertise willingly and was respected by all whom
he came into contact with.
Gary
always kept a positive outlook on life no matter the circumstances. The
underlying laughter in his voice was a constant. He touched so many lives in his short time
and we all feel that our lives were truly enriched by his presence.
A
well attended Memorial celebration of his life was held June 20th,
2009.
