    Eaton 'B' - 'BB' and 'U' pumps had a price increase effective August 1, 2006.

    BAB Reman gear and pump prices had a price increase effective October 1, 2006.

    NOTE: New LuK Pump Prices did not increase. The core charges on the Ford, TRW and Saginaw Cylinders also increased.

    A new excel price file was e-mailed to all master distributors on September 13. If you didn't receive the price file it might be in your Spam Folder or we may not have your e-mail address. You can request a copy of the new price file by e-mailing Sales@babsteering.com.

    Tools

    Technician have a tendency to use whatever tool is available, which may or may not be the proper tool, for the job. This fact is supported by the number of technicians who have admitted (during our clinics) to driving a chisel into the pinch bolt area of a pitman arm in order to remove it.

    We are often asked what we use at the factory or would recommend. Our technicians use the Posi Lock model 108 a 3 jaw or Posi Lock model 210 a 2 jaw puller. The 2 jaw for easy jobs and the 3 jaw (because it provides a more positive grip) on the more difficult to remove pitman arms.

    Technical Assistance

    For the steering system to work properly and to utilize the safe guards built into the steering system it must be set up properly.

    The drag between the sector shaft and the piston centers the gear (and the steering wheel if the system is set up correctly) and keeps the steering gear....
