Greetings!

Seriously Exciting News to Announce!

The University of Phoenix has reviewed the Vital Learning content (these are the courses we use for leadership UoPX_Logodevelopment) and has approved VL courses through their corporate articulation process. This means that students completing the Vital Learning approved courses can earn college credits toward degree programs in business related areas of study.

I'll have more details on this exciting partnership in the near term. Meanwhile, check out the article below - The Four C's Critical for Today's Workforce - and the resources from Vital Learning that can move you forward.
The Four C's Critical for Today's Workforce
This article comes from Talent Magazine, April 2010:

As the U.S. economy begins to show signs of improvement, executives say they need a workforce fully equipped with skills beyond just the basics of reading, writing and arithmetic (the three R's) in order to grow their businesses. Skills such as:
  • critical thinking and problem solving
  • communication
  • collaboration
  • creativity and innovation (the four C's) will become even more important to organizations in the future, according to a new survey conducted by American Management Association (AMA).

Are Employees Equipped to Handle These Challenges?
The article comments that:

About 3 out of 4 executives (75.7 percent) who responded to the AMA survey said that they believe these skills and competencies will become more important to their organizations in the next three to five years, particularly as the economy improves and organizations look to grow.

Are employees equipped to handle these challenges? According to the AMA survey, more than half of executives (51.4 percent) said their employees were only average in effective communication skills versus 38.1 percent who rated them above average, and 46.9 percent of respondents said their employees were only average in creativity and innovation, compared to 37.4 percent who rated them above average.

So how do you begin to impact these skills shortfalls? Use resources that are immediately available...
