 The World Comes to New York!
This Sunday runners from all over the world will descend upon NYC for the running of the NYC Marathon. From a humble beginning in 1970, this race has grown to host over 40,000 runners, and is filled with a rich history that goes way beyond the feats set by the worlds elite athletes. The frenzied crowds energize the runners, and spirits of the runners, inspire the crowds in countless ways.
While the race is typically won by African runners, Meb Keflezighi, the 2009 winner, and silver marathon medalist in the 2004 Olympics, remains the USA's best hopeful for a win.
Keflezighi, 36, believes he can take on a new wave of speedsters that features Geoffrey Mutai, who ran the fastest marathon in history this year in Boston with a 2:03:02 time!
For the women, the USA's best known runner is veteran Jen Rhines, who will have her work cut out for her as she takes on a womens field that is ripe with international distance speedsters.
This event is road racings flagship event, and if you've never been there to watch it in person, the weather is predicted to be good for runners and spectators alike, so, head on in to NYC and cheer on your favorite runners!

We always need help in providing extraordinary customer service to runners, walkers, and other passionate exercise fanatics, as well as folks that just simply need great shoes. If you want to be part of that, and if you love working with people, we need to talk. Right now, we're looking to fill part time positions
The job? Well, it includes working with the nicest customers on earth, fitting them into athletic shoes and apparel, and demonstrating accessories. When you're not with customers, it also includes answering the phone promptly, display work, stock work, housekeeping, and assorted other retail chores. If marketing is also one of your talents, we need that too! We can be flexible with hours and days but, Saturdays are "biggies."
