With the advent of the great March weather, and high school track & field, we are seeing many runners and walkers come in to be fit with shoe's who are complaining of shin splints. Shin splints can be caused by a variety of factors, some of which are preventable. The article below can help shed some light on how to deal with these nuisances. Always consult your physician if shin splints become disabling!
This month, Fleet Feet and New Balance will team up again and offer the third edition of the popular "No Boundaries" training program. No Boundaries is a beginner runner training program that helps you adopt a fitness lifestyle by training you to run your first 5K! This year our inaugural run will be March 27th and we will train you for the Reach Foundation 5K, our target race, on June 13th. We will have two info nights to be held on this Thursday, March 18th and next Tuesday, March 23rd each at 7:00PM! Tired of running alone? Need a little motivation? Want some running buddies? Then join us at FLEET FEET on Wednesday mornings at 7:45AM for a Fun Run. Typically, our runs are easy paced, averaging between 3 and 4 miles and are open to everyone! Make new friends and stay in shape at the same time! Our Sunday long runs at Rockefeller State Park will be resuming as soon as the park is free of snow and ice. These runs are open to every one and will be held throughout the summer and fall, until the park become inaccessible due to snow. Keep watch in this newsletter for their resumption and for the Sundays they will be held.. You can also click on the calendar on our website at anytime between newsletters, for dates, times and venues of any store sponsored run. If the weather ever makes you question if a run will be held, please check out the home page of our website @ www.fleetfeet mahwah.com , for up to the minute status of our run.
