The Fund for Armenian Relief (FAR) is pleased to announce that the MIHR Foundation which funds the Vanadzor Old Age Home (VOAH), hereafter will be known as the Kevork and Sirvart Karamanuk Foundation, in memory of its founders. As before, the Karamanuk Foundation will fund the major portion of the institution's 2010 budget, with some contributions from the Social Services of the Armenian government and outside sources.

VOAH was founded in 2001 by the Karamanuk Foundation and is considered among the most exemplary institutions in Armenia. During the last year, with the help of World Bank, VOAH underwent a major overhaul. The institution was rededicated in May 2009 in the presence of Garegin II, the Catholicos of All Armenians. It houses close to sixty elderly men and women and is staffed by 27 professionals, including a full-time medical staff.

The director of VOAH is Tigran Kocharyan, who is guided by the advice and consent of a board, consisting of Randy Sapah-Gulian, Garnik Nanagoulian, Annette Choolfaian, Bagrat Sarksyan and Michael M. Halajian.

The Board of Directors of the Karamanuk Foundation consists of Taline Avakian, Sahan Arzruni and Michael M. Halajian, who serve entirely on a voluntary basis and make significant contributions to the Foundation's work. The protector of the Kevork and Sirvart Karamanuk Foundation is Abp. Khajag Barsamian.
