 color logo  Color correction

Is a painting project in your future?  The best time to contact us is before you call the painter. We work with color every day and the theory behind it just Paint Colorscomes naturally. But what if you've already bought gallons of a color that looked great on the strip, but was too vivid on your wall?  Here's some tips to save your paint investment using a technique we call "knocking the color down".

When a small amount of a hue's complementary (opposite on the color wheel) pigment is added, it will reduce the intensity of the hue without making it darker.  Here's some examples:

  • Green that is too bright - add a touch of red.
  • Beige that is too pink - add a tiny amount of green.
  • Purple that is too bright - add a small amount of yellow.
  • Blue that is too electric - add some orange.

Always ComplimentaryRemember Interior Reflections when you want large  8.5" x 11" full size  samples of any Sherwin Williams colors. Use them as a tool to get it right the first time.

If you want to know a particular color's  opposite, your eyes will give you the answer. Stare at this violet square for 30 seconds and then shift your eyes to a white surface. A yellow square will appear.

Interior Reflections Delivers Beautiful Business Spaces, Too!

Recently a Houston based financial planning President called us to  "up their game" when welcoming clients to their new office. Conveying success and security as well as sophistication was the design mission we developed together.

After Reception Space At first blush you might think financial services to be quite dry stuff.  Not true. Here's how we did it...

Layering luxurious textures in plum, emerald, gold and paprika from floor to ceiling was one of the key factors in making this design an enviable winner. Before Design Plan

Our client was thrilled we used the existing mocha leather sofa and dark wood lamp tables in the new design plan. We brought them to life by adding four new sleek chairs upholstered in a classic woven diamond pattern in our designated colors.

With more and more women seeking sound financial services, it  was vital to balance both the feminine and masculine feel of the space.  Ladies tend to love curves, so we installed  a 36" diameter round mirror above a floating shelf filled with books embossed with shimmering gold titles.

Exceptional Credenza

The softly tapered sides of the astonishingly gorgeous credenza repeat the curvilinear theme and serve to unite the space.  For this business setting, we opened several of the drawers just slightly and inserted brochures and prospectuses for clients to choose from. In a home, it would be deserving of your finest silver as the felt lined drawers include perfectly spaced dividers.

Reflect your styleThis credenza is available right this minute here in Houston and it's an amazing value.  Contact us if you canSoothing Wall Fountain envision it in your home and would like to learn more.

We delivered an unexpected surprise: a tall cathedral wall fountain bringing the peaceful sound of trickling water throughout the space. It's guaranteed to bring your blood pressure down...fast.

Lady in Red

A shoe is just a shoe unless it's scarlet.  Red footwear has long carried a potent message.  The wearer is special. In 17th century France, Louie XIV favored red shoes, a luxury because the dye was expensive.  To protect the shoes' status, he went so far as to pass an edict that only aristocrats could sport red heels.

In the fairy tale The Red Shoes, crimson-toed shoes transform a peasant girl into a ballerina, while in The Wizard of Oz, Dorothy's ruby slippers give her magical powers.  Modern day celebrities demonstrate their wealth and glamour by slipping into red-soled heels by Christopher Louboutin for red carpet events.

Interior Reflections

The designer recently waged a legal battle to protect the exclusivity of his signature scarlet soles after rival Yves St. Laurent introduced some all-red shoes.  He lost in federal court, but won the pop-culture battle; his sexy stilettos are immortalized in the Jennifer Lopez song "Louboutins" as the ultimate in female-power footwear.
