Finding Your Niche

Have you longed for an interesting feature to jazz up a boring wall? Consider a wall niche that easily installs in the recess between two wall studs.  They are lightweight and paintable plus you get an instant shelf to create a vignette of your choice. 

Use the concave wall space to arrange tiny 3" x 3" and medium sized 5" x 7" framed photos. Yes, you can create the unexpected by arranging art on a curved surface! 

Consider larger, taller niches that even offer a seat for an entry.  Inserting  niches evenly spaced along a long hallway makes a dramatic display.  Two or three placed in a staggered arrangement leading up your staircase creates a WOW statement, too.

A client asked us to find a niche that perfectly matched the width and height of an arched stained glass window that had been in her family for many years.  We carefully attached the framed glass to the front of the niche and added concealed halogen lighting inside. The richness of the glass colors came alive and made it a source of joy and fond remembrance.  

 

 

Pinpoint What Your Tile Is Missing 

 

If a kitchen or bath remodel or a fireplace surround tear out isn't in your immediate plans, add pizzazz  to your current tile with  accent buttons.  Resembling a pushpin on steroids,  these beauties add just the right aged patina whether you choose burnished bronze, copper, verdi or brushed silver.  Ranging in size from one half inch to one and a half inches, use the right size for the amount of tile you'll be adorning. If you're feeling brave, you can use a masonry drill bit  to make a tiny hole in the grout.  Otherwise, take off the stem with tin snips and use liquid nails to apply.  You'll be amazed at the places you can find to use these gems.

This Exact Color....

This example shows how important color is when choosing the perfect fruit or any produce, really.  Banana growers have determined that a bright yellow banana is less likely to sell than a buttercup yellow banana, which is one grade warmer on the color scale and is perceived to correlate with a riper, fresher fruit.

Growers are now catering to that preference by planting crops under conditions most ideal for producing that precise yellow color.

Interior Reflections Puts The Heart In Art

Here's a classic scenario: block paneled room presents an art hanging dilemma especially when the open space between the vertical moulding varies in width across the wall expanse.

By using square art with a similar Paris theme on the right and left block and a vertical, slightly elevated piece in the middle, your eye naturally looks to the center for balance and unity.   

After

We recommend building a room in layers from the floor up. An 8' x 10' (nearly indestructible) area rug brought inviting colors into the room. Inserting a Luxe Hold Plus reversible pad between the rug and the carpeting means the difference between an area rug that buckles and one that stays safely in place.

This busy mother of four also asked for a solution for the pile of toys to the right of the sofa. Voila! A tall, oversized trunk now quickly stores them out of sight.  Adding a floor lamp for reading brings a welcoming glow to an otherwise dark corner.
