Bring the outdoors in with this nature-inspired collection |
Do you love it?
Make sure you love your existing comforter, bedspread or duvet cover and that you're happy with the fit, too. You can own the most beautiful dress in the world but if the color isn't flattering and it doesn't fit quite right, are you going to feel good in it? Probably not. Invest in bedcoverings you love - we promise they will bring you pure joy.
Don't be shy when it comes to color. Resist the urge to go with a solid fabric. Wrinkles are more noticeable and wear and tear shows up faster. Make a smarter choice with a pinstripe, geometric, variegated tweed or even a bold floral fabric if you're feeling daring.
Update Your Wall Color. Now that you love your bed fabrics, choose one or more fresh paint colors for your walls. Use a second (and more saturated) color as an accent wall behind your bed or even on your ceiling. Painting the back wall of a built-in bookcase the same accent color helps unify the elements of your room. Remember you can always get large 8.5" x 11" color swatches of any Sherwin Williams' colors by e-mailing us.

We love this distressed console chest. It's 36" wide, 31" tall and only 16" deep. |
Elevate yourself (or at least your bedside tables). Do the unexpected and use a console chest that is traditionally taller than a bedside table.
There's tons of storage for books and magazines behind the four doors. On
the other side of your bed, try this three drawer drum table. They share a warm cherry wood top as well as a similar handpainted creamy glaze finish.
Choosing taller tables also raises your bedside lamps which can mean more comfortable reading.
Find a Cozy Landing
When your feet first touch the floor in the morning, pamper them with a soft, luxurious area rug. Bedrooms are one place where the warmth, coziness and soundproofing of a rug is especially desirable.
The design of a bedroom often lends itself to using accent rugs, runners, or a round rug, but a room-size rug will work beautifully too. Make sure your feet touch rug when getting out of bed in the morning (which generally means allowing at least 18 inches of rug on each side of the bed). Why not have fun and try mixing different patterns on runners and accent rugs?
Did you know?
You gain only 6 inches in width when you go from a double (or full) size bed to a queen size. However, you do gain 8 inches in length. When you leap from a queen to a king size, you gain a whopping 16 inches in width. The length stays the same at 80 inches unless you choose a California king which is a rarity these days.
