Since beginning my interior design practice more than 22 years ago,
I’ve never seen a more amazing array of beautiful colors and finishes.

The 2005-2006 color forecast released by both U.S. and international color marketing groups has some exciting news! Whatever your color preferences might be – there are promising colors for everyone.

It’s human nature to sometimes think in black and white extremes. Let’s say you’ve been considering updating several rooms….. maybe your family room and kitchen/ breakfast area, not to mention making your entry more welcoming.

Perhaps you’re saying to yourself “Oh, I can’t fall in love with any of those colors - I’ll have to throw everything out and start over.” Or you may be thinking “Yes! I’m in love with these new colors. I want to use them everywhere – even the garage! Now what do I do with them?”

In reality, your true feelings about introducing new color(s) probably fall somewhere in between these two extremes. I remember asking a client during our first meeting what was her favorite color and she replied “clear”. I didn’t laugh then but I can safely laugh now. She called recently to rave about how good she feels being surrounded by shades of maple leaf red, savory sage and golden blond – all colors she loves.

Yes, there’s a middle ground between “clear” and bungee jumping into the color canyon.

And that’s where you’ll find Interior Reflections. You don’t have to go it alone. As professional interior designers, we use time tested color principles to marry colors you want to keep with one or more pleasing new colors for a fresh look you’ll enjoy for years to come.

Let’s take a peek at the new 2005-2006 color forecast...

“Wow!” were the first words out of my husband’s mouth when he saw what you did for our family room. We’d tried every possible furniture arrangement with no success. And in 30 seconds, you came up with a creative solution that not only makes sense but really opens up our room. We never dreamed it could look and feel this comfortable. Thanks and I’ll be calling for your help with phase II soon!”

Do away with boring ceilings! Start by applying a heavily embossed wall covering called anaglypta to your ceiling. Anaglypta designs harken back to the Victorian era when tin ceilings were popular. It is a thick white paper, generally 20 ½” wide and covers a multitude of ceiling imperfections.

It must be painted so this is where you can really get creative. The best part is that once it’s up, it can be painted two or more times.

Try adding 1 –2 ½ cups of your wall color to 1 gallon of ceiling white. Add 1 cup at a time, mix thoroughly and see how you like it. Max is usually 2 ½ cups (20%) to a gallon. You’ll be amazed how the eye will travel up the wall and make a smooth transition to the relief design of your ceiling. For a smart, crisp look - separate the two colors with true white crown molding.

Feeling bold? After your painted anaglypta has dried, brush on a light coat of metallic or pearlized glaze and wipe off gently to give your design extra depth and dimension. Visit http://www.steptoewife.com/anaglypta.htm for more anaglypta designs.

If you bought your favorite nail polish by the gallon – it would cost over $500.00

Help! I can’t get the right paint color for my family room walls. I’ve tried everything – taking fabric swatches, wallpaper samples and lugging around a big piece of my carpet. What about my trim and ceiling color? This is all driving
me crazy!

Does this describe you? You’ve driven back and the forth to the paint store what seems like a million times with no success. “Maybe I’ll try a quart of this color. It looks great on this teeny paint strip!” You get it home, brush it on a poster board and your heart sinks; it just isn’t right.

Then you go back to the paint store three more times adding a drop of this and four drops of that and it’s still off. Before you know it the sales clerks are seeing more of you than your husband. There is a faster and easier way to choose the perfect colors the first time. Call Interior Reflections - the color experts!

We have a trained eye for color. You’ll enjoy learning why one color works best for you over another. And we’ll show you where to start and end your color(s). Want to mix it up a bit and use 3 different colors for your dining room, family room and entry? Count on Interior Reflections to recommend harmonious colors that flow naturally throughout your home.

Plus we offer deluxe 8” x 10” samples of the paint colors you prefer which will eliminate all those time consuming and frustrating visits to the paint store. We do all this in the comfort of your home. That’s because the best color choices are made when we consider your light sources, any reflective surfaces and the undertones of your present flooring and furnishings.

We’ve got more savvy choices than a barn, crate, depot or corner! And when was the last time you tried to get some help in one of those places?
