Call for Papers |
"Doing More With Less."
The theme of
the
Auditing Roundtable's Spring 2009 (April 21-24, 2009)
meeting seems more timely every week. There are
some good presentations already, but they are
still looking for speakers in some specific areas.
Doing More....
* The need for EHS Auditing continues to grow
* Supply chain risks require oversight and audits for
EHS and Social issues
* Greenhouse Gas audits support carbon footprints,
carbon offset projects, and sequestration
* The Climate Registry and the Chicago Climate
Exchange require independently verified data. *
Content of Sustainability reports requires more
confidence.
.....With Less
- Company budgets are shrinking in all areas
- Staffing levels are generally static, or declining
- Deadlines get shorter
The Auditing Roundtable is especially interested in
presenters who can speak to one or more of these
trends, and how EHS/S auditors can do more with
less in areas including, but not limited to:
- Using risk assessments to adjust auditing
frequencies, teams, or efforts
- Adding Security, DOT, social, or supply chain to
Environmental Audits
- Auditing program's role in managing reports that
must be independently verified (such as Climate
Registry)
- Using IT (either designed for EHS/S, or enterprise
software adapted for EHS/S) to improve effectiveness
or efficiencies of EHS/S auditing)
- Program redesigns to increase effectiveness)
- Alternative sourcing models

ABOUT BEAC |
For more than a decade the
Board of Environmental, Health and Safety Auditor
Certifications (BEAC) has been working to ensure that
organizations and government are staffed with
professional auditors who ensure we live in a healthy
and safe world.
BEAC is an independent non-profit
corporation, created in 1997 as a joint venture
between The Auditing Roundtable and The Institute of
Internal Auditors to issue professional
auditor certifications relating to environmental, health
& safety, security, sustainability, social responsibility
(EHS), and other scientific fields.
BEAC applicants must meet a variety of qualification
criteria. Once approved, they are awarded the
professional designation of Certified Professional
Environmental Auditor (CPEA).
The BEAC certification is accredited by the Council of
