Greetings!
BEAC has achieved remarkable success since its
creation in 1997. The CPEA certification is been
awarded accreditation by the Council on Engineering
and Scientific Specialty Boards (CESB); The Institute
of Internal Auditors' Board of Regents has formally
approved recognition of the professional
accomplishments of the CPEA and has accepted the
CPEA designation for their CIA exam, Part IV; and
CPEAs qualify for professional membership status by
the American Society of Safety Engineers (ASSE).

2007 Executive Committee and Board of Directors as

Chair.

appointed Chair-elect. Jerry is currently Senior
Environmental Auditor
for Consolidated Edison in New York.
John Nagy, CPEA will continue to
serve as
Treasurer. John is Vice President, EHS Management

appointed

The Auditing Roundtable will host its International
Regional meeting May 2-3, 2007, in Barcelona, Spain.
The meeting will address increasing requirements,
global competitiveness, and how enhancing
management systems reduces the need for
resources.

BEAC is a professional certification board that issues
the Certified Professional Environmental Auditor
(CPEA) designation to qualified EHS auditors.

BEAC evaluates the academic and professional
experience and qualifications of EHS auditors,

It should come as no surprise to readers of this
column that today's environmental, health and safety
(EHS) dynamics are vastly different from those of just
a decade ago. Management, however, may not fully
understand how the underlying forces have shifted
and what the resulting competitive business
implications are. Simple operational models offer an
