Meet the Fort Bend Brewing Company Team
Ty Coburn - General Manager: Entrepreneur and founder, Ty has always and will continue to be a passionate beer lover. Ty remembers starting his love affair of this wonderful libation at, let's just say a much younger age, when he had his first taste of a beer. When asked by his mother if he "really liked the taste of beer?", he exclaimed "it's better than soda!". His brew palate has changed over the years, but not his love for it - he still likes it more than soda!
Christopher Leonard - Brewmaster: Christopher is a distinguished 15-year professional Brewmaster who comes to FBBC from Philadelphia. He is so excited to be coming to Texas, he has already purchased a pair of cowboy boots and a Stetson hat that he promises to be wearing when he brews his first batch. Christopher attended the American Brewers Guild in Davis, CA, served as Brewmaster for numerous breweries from New York to San Diego, and served as the Proprietor-Brewmaster of the General Lafayette Inn & Brewery (5th oldest tavern in US). He also participated in the development/installation of the first production brewery in Peru, Sierra Andina. He is a Brewmaster who has had consistently high ratings for his brews, and has won many awards including a GABF, World Beer Championships, and numerous local area awards.
Ray Self - Special Projects: A self-taught brewer, Ray's true love of beer began in college; and we're not saying that was the reason he took a few extra years to finish, but I know he enjoyed his time "studying a lot". However, he claims a minor in the Scientology of Beer, and based on a few of his formulas, I would have to agree. Ray will be heading up all Special Projects.
Sharon Coburn - Marketing and Events Coordinator: After many successful years of experience in sales, Sharon is excited to work side by side with her husband handling the marketing and events for the brewery. As an avid sports fan, she loves and supports all the local pro teams. Especially fond of the Houston Texans, Sharon can be seen (and heard!) in the yellow lot at the "Just Chilin Tailgaters" (watch for new brews being introduced there).
