The Colorado APCD website goes live November 1st, 2012, and will allow us for the first time to start evaluating the big drivers affecting health care cost and utilization in our state. To celebrate this important milestone, CIVHC is hosting a launch event at The Colorado Trust from 10-11:30am. Please join us and other health care leaders in the state as we share some of the early data and findings in the APCD and demonstrate how to use the interactive website to search the health data of interest to you.

 

In 2008, the bi-partisan Blue Ribbon Commission for Health Care Reform submitted their final report to the General Assembly that included a recommendation to create a statewide All Payer Claims Database (APCD)...

Barbara Ryan, Ph.D.
Originally appointed to the board in 2009, Barbara Ryan, Ph.D., was named CIVHC's Board Chair at the annual meeting this summer. As a licensed clinical psychologist and current President of the Colorado Behavioral Healthcare Council, Ryan has extensive clinical and management experience. She has worked with diverse client populations across the age span, in settings that include community mental health, developmental disabilities, and with Kaiser Permanente. In her current position as Chief Executive Officer of Mental Health Partners, Ryan has emphasized strategic planning built on innovation, redefinition of delivery systems, accountability and outcome measurement, and evidence-based practice. This includes a strong priority placed on collaboration and partnership among human service agencies to integrate services and planning for the benefit of people who are served.

 

CIVHCConnectCMS Selects 73 Colorado Practices for Medical Home Initiative
CPCI practice mapAt the end of August, the Center for Medicare & Medicaid (CMS) Innovation selected 73 Colorado primary care practices to participate in the Comprehensive Primary Care Initiative. The practices represent 335 primary care practitioners serving approximately 41,000 Medicare beneficiaries across urban and rural Colorado. They include a diverse array of large and small practices, some with National Committee for Quality Assurance (NCQA) Patient-Centered Medical Home (PCMH) recognition, and others just beginning their journey.

Cortney Green joined us in early September as CIVHC's Program Assistant. In her new role, Ms. Green will support our delivery system redesign, payment reform and data and transparency focus areas.
