Greetings!

Although the summer is typically a time during which our pace of life begins to slow as students are out of school, families take vacations, and we spend so much of our time outdoors - there's much happening now in the Church!

The United States Conference of Catholic Bishops just kicked off its "Fortnight for Freedom" initiative on June 21st, beginning a celebration of our First Freedom. We encourage you to look for events happening in your own diocese during this time to learn more about what religious freedom means to us, as Catholics. Highlighted in this newsletter you'll find many other resources that relate to this Fortnight for Freedom. We hope that these will help you get started in learning more about our most cherished liberty as we approach the coming celebration of our country's founding.

Elsewhere in this newsletter you'll see resources that were recently released in this past week that we hope you'll find of great help! They are engaging and worth the time to explore and learn more!

As always, we strive to keep you up to date with the best resources from ministries across the Church. Be sure to check our website, Facebook, Twitter and blog to find these resources and let us know if they are of help to you. The only way we can improve is by your feedback!

May the love of Christ urge us on!

Join our Bishops and Catholics from across the country in a celebration of our "First Freedom"! Organized by the United States Conference of Catholic Bishops, "Fortnight for Freedom" is meant to provide the opportunity for Catholics to learn about what it means to be Catholic in the public square. As Archbishop William Lori said, "We must be loyal Americans by being bold and courageous Catholics." These resources recommended below, in conjunction with "A Fortnight for Freedom" events, help us to do just that!
The Official Website of the Year of Faith!
In a press conference last week, the Vatican launched
the official website for the Year of Faith and highlighted many events to occur throughout the year. Produced in conjunction with the Pontifical Council for Promoting the New Evangelization, it's a fantastic resource. One will not only learn more about this Year of Faith but, in doing so, better prepare their hearts for this meaningful time in the Church.

Newly Released Catechism e-Book
The United States Conference of Catholic Bishops has recently released a new, user-friendly Catechism of the Catholic Church e-Book. This easy to read edition features a dual-panel reading frame, enabling easy navigation between different chapters and sub-chapters.

The Vatican has also provided a Catechism resource that is particularly helpful when researching key words and phrases. Included here is a concordance feature that hyperlinks words and phrases, then listing the places that each of them appear!

Both are excellent online tools we highly recommend, especially when you're on the go!
