Greetings!

Happy Birthday! On this Pentecost weekend, celebrated as the birthday of the Church, let us give thanks for the many blessings and gifts that the Spirit has bestowed upon each of us. For us here at the CAC, we constantly strive to prayerfully follow the guidance of the Holy Spirit in our work to fulfill our mission of "Reviving faith, rekindling charity and forming apostles".

In this effort we want to highlight the portion of our website that features fantastic links to online faith formation resources for your own exploration. These resources cover topics ranging from the New Evangelization to Prayer and Catechesis, and come in varying forms such as blogs, documents, video and even breaking news headlines straight from the Vatican! As in previous editions of this newsletter, in this and future issues we will be highlighting many of the links found in this wealth of information to help you better understand how to make the most of it!

We're happy to announce that our "New Evangelization 101" webinar series will be kicking off this summer. This multi-part series of live webinars begins by simply laying a foundation of understanding and asking basic questions such as "What is the New Evangelization?" and "Why is it 'New'"?

Our prayer here at the CAC is that through our work, we may achieve the tenets of our mission for both you and ourselves. As always, please let us know how we can help you! We want to hear from you about the kinds of ideas and things that you are looking for to aid you in your own formation and ministry collaboration.

May the love of Christ urge us on!

In Christ,
The CAC Team

Before he was known as Pope Benedict XVI, Cardinal Joseph Ratzinger was the Prefect for the Congregation for the Doctrine of the Faith.  Even in this role he was discussing the "New Evangelization" and helping to teach others what it looks like and how we go  about putting it into action. That is to say, how are we evangelizing in our daily lives despite the changes occurring around us, including a "progressive process of de-Christianization and a loss of the essential human values"?

In this address Cardinal Ratzinger gave to Catechists and Religion teachers in 2000, he seeks to answer and explain these questions. We highly recommend this as reading material, especially to help gain a greater understanding of what is laid down as the basis of the New Evangelization.

Saint of the Day:
St. Augustine of Canterbury

A feature of AmericanCatholic.org, this "Saint of the Day" page lets you see who's feast day is being celebrated. For today, May 27, we honor St. Augustine of Canterbury who was among the first evangelizers to the Anglo-Saxons in England at the turn of the sixth century.

News.va
If you follow our Facebook postings and Twitter feed, you may have noticed that we often have a favorite website from which we commonly repost news. This is news.va(pictured above) launched by the Holy Father, Pope Benedict XVI last summer to help the faithful stay engaged with the stories coming from out of the Vatican. The website not only features the Holy Father's homilies, Wednesday audiences and Sunday Angelus but links to other Vatican news sources such as Vatican Radio and L'Osservatore Romano and others.
 Wisdom from the Saints
"The proof of love is in the works. Where love exists, it works great things. But when it ceases to act, it ceases to exist."
-St. Gregory the Great
