Sponsor Thank You
The Frida Center for Fibromyalgia
Special thanks to Dr. Liptan, and her center, who have generously agreed to provide us with our meeting space at no charge.

Our first meeting at our new "home" will be our Holiday Potluck Party on Saturday, December 17th from 1-4 PM.

Dr. Liptan is a doctor who truly "gets it" when it comes to fibro because she has it herself.

She was joined at her practice in October by Cheryl Hryciw, NP and fibromyalgia specialist from the Fibromyalgia Clinic at OHSU. We highly recommend them both!

Cheryl spoke at our meeting last month. You can access the videos from the article below in this email.

Dr. Liptan spoke at our June meeting earlier this year on Fascia and It's Role in Fibromyalgia Pain.

Clever Newsletter Title
NOVEMBER 2011
Greetings!

Welcome to our first newsletter! We hope this will grow into a great resource for you. This month, we're starting simple.

We are going to be consolidating some of our communications to lighten up your email box by using this newsletter. However, if you ever need to update your email address or unsubscribe, you can always use the link at the bottom of each email.

You may have noticed that we need some help coming up with a title! We'd love it if you could send in your suggestions for a name for our newsletter. Feel free to just reply to this email for sending those in.

PS... Think of one person with fibromyalgia or ME/CFS who has told you, "I wish there was some support for people like us!" and  to him/her.

Holiday-Related Stress & Self Care
The Practical Fibromite

During our webinar on the 14th of this month, we are going to talk about holiday-related responsibilities and self-care with The Practical Fibromite, Michelle Graas.

So many of us have struggles around pacing... Michelle has some wonderful, down-to-earth and easily implemented suggestions for us that are sure to keep our holidays more stress-free. This means fewer flares, less fatigue and more fun. Who wouldn't want that?

This will be an enjoyable pre-holiday planning session where Michelle promises to also include some of her favorite holiday recipes and cooking tips. It really is a webinar you don't want to miss.

If you can't make the webinar, be sure to join our private web group so that you will have access to the recording after the event!

Guilt, Blame, & "Shoulds": The 3 Enemies of Self-Care & Organization
Jennifer Hofmann
Jennifer Hofmann

Our speaker on the 19th of this month will be Jennifer Hofmann, from Inspired Home Office.

Being nice to ourselves through kind self-talk and organization that can make our lives run more smoothly are two of the things that Jennifer will teach us in this meeting.

"If you've ever thought you should be more organized and feel guilty because you aren't, take heart," Jennifer says. "This session will explain how guilt, blame, and "shoulds" actually prevent you from being organized and caring for yourself."

Another interesting fact is that ADD has been equated to some extent with aspects of brain fog. So, much of Jennifer's experience with learning to work with ADD could transfer to our working with brain fog.

This really is a meeting you don't want to miss. Jennifer is just one of those lovely people that makes you feel better from just being around her.

If you can't make the meeting, or don't live in the Portland area, be sure to join our private web group so that you can watch the video after the meeting!
