Meet The Candidates Tonight |
Meet the Candidates Tonight!
South Carolina will hold a primary election on June 12th. It is very important that all parents and teachers who are concerned about public education are informed about the different candidate's position and vote on this election.
To help individuals in the community learn about the candidates and their position on education, SICs and PTAs across District 8 have arranged a Forum with the District 8 Senate Candidates. Jim Lee, Ross Turner, Jeff Dishner, Joe Swann, David Thomas and Chad Groove will participate in this event. This is an opportunity for the candidates to share their position on education and community members to ask questions that relate to education and issues impacting families. There will be a professional moderate present to facilitate.
The forum will be held on Monday May 14th from 6-7:30 pm at Mauldin Middle School.
If you are interested in attending the forum, please click on this link to register:

CALLING ALL VOLUNTEERS! |
We need an army of volunteers to help with several, year-end activities:
Seventh Grade Field Day is Wednesday, May 30 Sixth Grade Field Day is Thursday, May 31 Eighth Grade Day is Friday, June 1
These are fun-filled days for the kids and a great way to end the school year.
Please email Cherron Saad at cherronsaad@charter.net if you are able to volunteer for these events and/or send in snacks or waters for 6th and 7th grade Field Days. We need approximately 18 volunteers each day. This is also a great opportunity for Dads or Grandfathers to be involved.

Student Information for 6th and 7th Grade Field Days |
Students will need to come to school dressed in dress code. Don't forget that shorts must come to the top of the knee. T-shirts will be allowed and will be put on before Field Day begins. Teachers typically have the kids choose a solid color to represent their team.
Students may not attend Field Day if they have received an OSS Referral (Out of School Suspension) or more than two ISS (In School Suspension) referrals between the dates of April 12th and May 29th. These students will be expected to stay inside with an adult and complete an assignment.
