Furman Engaged! Celebration |
|
Hughes Academy students visited Furman University on March 30 to participate in the fourth annual Furman Engaged! Celebration. More than 600 Furman students gave presentations throughout campus, covering nearly every academic discipline. Hughes students attended these presentations, visited the Shi Center for Sustainability, and toured the campus with their Furman mentors. This is the third year Hughes students have attended the Furman Engaged! Event. |

End of the Year Information |

It is almost the end of the year and there are many celebrations planned for all students! As a reminder to all students that in order to be able to attend the end of the year field day, awards day, & eighth grade day you must have no more than 2 In School Suspensions (ISS) between April 12 & May 29th. In addition you are not allowed to have any Out of School Suspensions (OSS) during this time period.

8th Grade
We will have a brief parent meeting regarding the spring trip on April 17 at 2:30 p.m. in the Media Center. This is NOT mandatory. We will discuss the final details of the trip.
Please remind your child that five (5) service hours are due April 23rd to Mrs. Merck. Please make sure they turn them in to her.
7th Grade
Belk Charity Day coupons were issued to students before spring break. Each child that picked up coupons were given three each. If your child picked up coupons to sell, please send in the money or any unsold coupons to guidance by Thursday, April 19th. We also have an opportunity to sell tickets after school one day next week -- at the Belk in Simpsonville. If your child is interested, please let me know so I can make arrangements with the store. Thank you all for your help and assistance as we begin to wrap up this year's events. |

The Hughes Academy Band performed at Carowinds Festival of Music Saturday, April 14. They received a Superior Rating. The band is under the direction of Kevin Baucom. |
