GREAT NEWS FOR HUGHES!
According to AYP calculations, Hughes Academy students improved their PASS Math scores by 12.5%. They improved their PASS ELA scores by 6.4%. We are very excited about the increasing progress our students are making, and we hope to keep the momentum going!
First Day Packets-August 31 Deadline
Information requested in the packet your child brought home on the first day of school is due this Wednesday, August 31.
This deadline is for all items on the pink "tally sheet" including sign-ups and purchases of the School Directory, PTSA Memberships, Hughes Sweatshirts, Fall for Hughes Parent Party, Roaring Cougars and the Student Information Form. Thank you!!
Gym Uniforms
We have had a number of questions about appropriate attire for gym class. Here are the guidelines:
students may wear athletic shorts or pants but they must be dress code colors and length (meet the top of the knee) -- gray is also acceptable
t-shirts -- must be dress code colors (navy, red, black or white) with minimal writing
sneakers must be worn
PTSA General Membership Meeting

School Dance

Back to School Wrap Up
Back to School Activities on August 15 were well attended and provided a lot of information for students and parents. Many thanks to the multitude of parent, student and teacher volunteers that made that day such a success!
Rising 6th Graders pick up their schedules and get "Ready to Roar" into Hughes at orientation.
Dr. Mark explained to the 6th graders Hughes' dress code. Student volunteers demonstrated appropriate and inappropriate attire.
GHS D-Team Football
Come support the Greenville High D Team. Their first game is Tuesday September 6th at JL Mann. The game will start at 6:00 pm.
