Happy Birthday USMC!!!
 

As many of you know both my sons as well as my son in law are all Marines.  Our family has a very strong affection for our military in general and our Marines in particular.  Because of that I want to call your attention to something that I think is pretty cool.
 

Most people don't know this but the United State Marine Corp is celebrating their 236th birthday.  That's right, the USMC is actually two years older than the country itself. 

There is a famous young man in Hollywood by the name of Justin Timberlake.  While there are many in Hollywood that aren't very supportive of the military, there are others in Hollywood that fall into the Bob Hope mold (showing my age I know).  Justin Timberlake fits more in the second category.
 

A young female Marine posted a video on Youtube.com asking Justin to be her date to the Marine Corp Ball.  This video got enough play around the country that someone brought it to Justin's attention.  In what I thought was a very classy move, he agreed to go as her date. 
 

Now Gail and I have been privileged to attend several Marine Corp Balls and I can tell you that the ceremony is a sight to behold.  But instead of me telling you, I'd like to give you the opportunity to read about it as Mr. Timberlake describes it.  I promise you it is well worth the read!
