Meet Raspberry
Q: How long have you been a professional organizer? A: Since childhood... I was an early sorter of art supplies, stickers and candy! I founded Regarding Style in 2005 to provide white-glove professional organizational services for residential and business clients. I see clients full-time and have amassed a roster in excess of 250 residential clients over the last six years. I provide consulting services for many small business and have been awarded prestigious contracts at Harvard University, MIT, and the Hoffman Institute. It's been an amazing learning experience. I marvel at the bravery of my clients. Everyday they open their homes to me and commit to work through their negative self-perceptions to change their lives for the better. I have learned valuable lessons in tenacity, compassion, and straight-up hard work. Q: Why work with a professional organizer? A: For the same reasons you work with a personal trainer or therapist, for example. You will achieve much greater results in a shorter period of time. We lay down a project goal and drive toward success in a focused manner. I have an allowance for emotional stress, and every client works works at their own pace, but we don't spend excessive time meandering along the path. We absolutely achieve more in a four-hour session together than they would on their own.
Q: What services do you provide? A: On a day-to-day basis I touch all imaginable household possessions in garages, play-rooms, closets, home-offices, etc. Additionally, clients call on me to provide services for move-management, time-management, household budgets, parties, scrapbooking, estate sales, space-planning, etc. If it happens in a household, chances are I've had my hands in the mix.
Q: What is the key to being organized? A: Having the right amount of stuff is the key to being and staying organized. I hear "if only" a lot in my job. If only I had more space... If only I had more time... If only I had the right bin... My reply is, you have enough space and enough time, but you have too much stuff, and now your stuff is controlling you. There has to be a process of culling the past, on both an emotional or physical level, to make room for the present and future. I promise that there is freedom on the other side of the strip-down. You have to trust in the process and do the hard work.
Q: What's with the hat? A: I was born in South Dakota. Sometimes my inner cowgirl trumps my city ways.
Q: Any last words of advice? A: Yes, my mantra for 2011 is: Get it Done. There is no magic wand and no extra hour in the day. You will be successful and organized when you commit to change, allocate the resources, and put in the hard work.

BEFORE: Years of avid collecting and home repair made this large basement impassable and storage spaces bulge.

AFTER: A whole lot of man-hours and a full dumpster later, we had the basement under control.
