Dedication Event for Flyway on August 25th
Come celebrate Albuquerque's newest public artwork on August 25th at the Open Space Visitors Center on the Westside. Flyway, by artist Robert Wilson, utilizes recycled jetty jacks from the bosque to create a powerful piece of land art. The dedication ceremony will take place at 11:00 am. Come be part of public art!

Albuquerque's Public Art Urban Enhancement Program is pleased to help spread the word about these regional public art opportunities. The State of New Mexico Public Art Program is asking for submissions for temporary environmentally based public artworks to be displayed in various outdoor locations throughout the Navajo Nation.The deadline is September 30, 2011. The City of Rio Rancho and the University of New Mexico is calling for submissions for a permanent artwork in an outdoor location of the UNM West campus, located in Rio Rancho's City Center. 1 Million Bones Project Comes to Albuquerque
The national "One Million Bones" project is coming to Albuquerque on August 27th, 2011 at 10 AM. One Million Bones is a community-based, collaborative, public art installation that will take place along Central Ave near 4th St. The event is part of a larger national event that aims to recognize the millions of victims and survivors who have been killed or displaced by ongoing genocides.
