We welcome No More Empty Pots as a new corporate member of WasteCap. In March we also had 16 corporate memberships and one individual membership renewed.
No More Empty Pots is a 501 (c) (3) nonprofit organization dedicated to collaboration, transparency and action. We value empowerment, stewardship and sustainability. We work with community residents and organizations to address needs and develop solutions that improve self-sufficiency of communities and strengths of organizations and businesses. We are committed to sustainable, impactful outcomes. We believe that we have better communities when we work together. Let's discover how we can work together for a more inclusive, just, and sustainable place.

WasteCap News- April Green Team Roundtables to be held in Lincoln and Hastings

A Green Team Roundtable was held in Lincoln on April 11th with a discussion on employee commuter programs and descriptions of upcoming opportunities for employee bicycle commuting events in Lincoln.
A second Roundtable will be held in Hastings on April 18th at Central Community College. The main topics covered there will be selecting a framework for your company's sustainability plan and an overview of the sustainability achievements at CCC. Read the full article by clicking here.

WasteCap News- Offering Free CFL Recycling Program to Nebraska Businesses

WasteCap Nebraska invites Nebraska businesses to join the Another Bright Idea network to recycle used Compact Fluorescent Lamps (CFLs) at no cost. By providing this free recycling service to employees, it demonstrates that reducing environmental impact is a priority in your company.

WasteCap News - March 28 Seminar Provides Instruction for Waste Audits on WasteFinder Green App
| | A small, but enthusiastic group of business representatives attended the first WasteFinder Green App training on March 28th to learn how to conduct their own waste assessments and manage the data with this new tool.

WasteCap News- WasteCap Nebraska is awarded grants from Nebraska Department of Environmental Quality

WasteCap Nebraska was awarded two grants totaling $119,330, from the Nebraska Department of Environmental Quality's Litter Reduction and Recycling Grant Program. Altogether, the state received 67 applications requesting more than $2.6 million for litter reduction and recycling projects. A total of more than $1.5 million was awarded to 57 projects throughout Nebraska.

WasteCap News- IntraTrain program at a Discount

News-Spring Brings a Flurry of e-Scrap Collection Events in Northeast Nebraska

Several WasteCap- funded e-Scrap Collection Events have been scheduled in Northeast Nebraska, thanks to the hard work of Denise Trine, director of PrairieLand RC&D in Madison, Nebraska. One collection event was held in Pilger on March 30th, two events were held on April 5th in Tilden and Petersburg and another in Albion on April 7th. Clarkson and Genoa events will round out this series of Spring collection events in the Prairieland RC&D area.

News- Electronics Recycling Alliance to Hold "Earth Day, All Day"

Electronics Recycling Alliance to Hold "Earth Day, All Day" Electronic Collection Events in Omaha April 21st
After several months of planning and organizing, a new coalition of nonprofit organizations is launching its first event in two locations in Omaha on Earth Day, Saturday, April 21st. Businesses and households may bring anything with a cord or battery to be recycled. The morning event will be held from 8:00 am to 12:00 pm at Whole Foods Market in the Regency Shopping Center, 10020 Regency Circle. Skate Daze at 133rd and B Streets will host the afternoon event from 12:00 pm to 4:00 pm. Nominal fees will be charged for TVs and monitors.
