1,000 Bulb Recycling Challenge launches on America Recycles Day, November 15th

WasteCap Nebraska launches its 1000 Bulb Recycling Challenge on America Recycles Day, November 15, 2011 as part of its Another Bright Idea (ABI) program. The challenge will run from November 15 through December 15 and aims to collect 1,000 used fluorescent bulbs, including Compact Fluorescent Bulbs (CFLs) at participating local retailers across Nebraska. Landfills still the most unpopular land development
| | In a recent article in Waste & Recycling News, a survey on land use ranked landfills at number one in the "most opposed development" category. More than 3 of 4 people surveyed opposed the building of landfills, outpacing power plants, quarries, casinos, and Wal-Marts. With so much public opposition, is it any wonder that municipalities across the country are looking at alternatives to the high-dollar investments needed to build new landfills?
