This has been yet another busy month for WasteCap Nebraska. Below you will find info on the Sustainable Business Summit, new member bios, articles that feature our members and board as well as an interesting article about the recycling logo!

WasteCap News - WasteCap Nebraska Sustainable Business Summit Itinerary
On October 12th, 13th and 14th, 2011, internationally recognized author and speaker, Bob Willard will speak with business leaders, students, faculty and the general public about the "business case" for sustainability, and provide advice on how to champion sustainability within one's own organization.

Registration begins June 2011 at www.wastecapne.org or (402) 434-7378.

As we've been busy the past month we have gained a couple new memberships. Please welcome each new company, as they will all be excellent additions to WasteCap Nebraska. The new members include, Mutual of Omaha, Architecture Etc, EcoStores Nebraska and Thermo King.

BryanLGH director is WasteCap Board President

BryanLGH congratulates Jeff Burg, director of environmental services and materials management, who was named WasteCap Nebraska's Board President. Burg has served on WasteCap Nebraska's Board of Directors since 2007. WasteCap is a non-profit organization that helps member businesses perform waste assessments; provides a baseline and recommendations on how to reduce their carbon footprint; offers training and support for company "green teams"; and provides environmental education and networking opportunities.

Recycling Equipment Grants Available
The Nebraska State Recycling Association has grant funds available for municipalities, non-profits and recycling companies who wish to purchase recycling equipment.  Interested parties should go to www.recyclenebraska.org and call Deb Rost at 402-933-3059 in Omaha for more information. Grants may fund the purchase of recycling trailers, carts, dumpsters, balers, forklifts, trucks and more.
