Hi ,

Happy Holidays! This has been a tough economic year and I hope you can join me in being thankful for all the good things we do have.

Featured project
Country feel in the heart of the city

The owners of this 1950s tuck-under rambler had outgrown its space with three kids, mom, dad, and large family dog. All family gatherings and social events happened in one tiny 10'x12' family room. The family needed additional space for homework, entertaining, and family gatherings.

Because they loved their home's location, the perfect solution was to add a 1600 sq. ft. addition with a spacious family room, master bedroom with a vaulted ceiling, computer den, and double car tuck-under garage with a work/storage area.

Family Room

The large vaulted family room sports a natural stone floor-to-ceiling fireplace and it even has real moss growing on the stones! Reclaimed barn flooring is truly a 'must see' when touring this space. The base and window casing is made from the same reclaimed wood.

Soffit

The interior of this project is very ornate. A custom-built multi-layered curved soffit gives the family room a very distinguished look.

Renovate, Repair and Paint (RRP) Law

Also known as the Lead Law
If you haven't heard by now, perhaps from grumbling contractors, a new lead law went into effect October 2010 by the Environment Pollution Agency. This law has good intentions but in my opinion not reasonably executed. If your house was built in 1978 or after, you have nothing to worry about. If built prior to 1978, plan on having some lead testing done on your house before starting any remodeling project.

If you have questions about RRP, my company is RRP certified to perform this type of work. Many companies aren't certified, so ask to see their RRP credentials before signing a contract with them.
Money-saving tip

A homeowner and contractor partnership

Are you considering a remodeling project or addition to your home and want to do some of the work yourself? If so, and you consider yourself a handy homeowner, then partner with ProTime on a project.

My company would do the structural work (such as masonry, framing, roofing) and you could do the finishing tasks (such as staining, painting, trim). I also would obtain permits, provide reliable subcontractors, and set the schedule.

It's a way you can save money, end up with quality work and have a pro manage the project.

I hope you have found this e-newsletter to be informative. Contact me if you have questions. Please pass it on to others who may have a need for remodeling services.

I hope you, your significant others, and families have a safe holiday season. May the new year bring us all success and happiness.

Merry Christmas and have a Happy New Year!
