February 9 is SBHC Advocacy Day! Learn what you can do!
We hope you will join the Network in Salem on February 9 when 150 youth advocates and community supporters from across the state will ask Governor Kitzhaber and their Legislators to protect funding for school-based health care. Registration is now open - click here!
Please participate in this movement by taking action, even if you can't be with us on February 9th. Action steps to prepare for SBHC Advocacy Day
- Download this press release, customize as directed, and send it to your local media outlets. Here is a link to a media contact file, should you need it.
- Start a letter writing campaign. Encourage your SBHC community supporters to write letters to your local news editors and to your Legislators NOW.
- Organize a call campaign. Those who can't attend the event in person can call their Legislators on February 9 to ask for their support in protecting SBHC funding.
- Hold an open house at your SBHC. Again, if you can't be with us in Salem, holding your own event is the next best thing!
- Prepare to meet your Legislator! If you do plan to attend the event in Salem, schedule a meeting with your Legislator NOW. Learn how to do that, and how to prepare for the meeting, by reviewing our resources at www.osbhcn.org/awareness#prepare.
You will find abundant resources supporting these ideas, as well as many other suggestions on our website as www.osbchn.org/awareness. Please check it out!
And, don't forget to register if you plan to attend the event.
