We have friends at the federal level!
Senator Jeff Merkley address the SBHC rally on Capitol Hill on June 17, 2010
"We have 2,000 SBHCs nation-wide. We need more.

"We have 1.7 million children who get assistance through those clinics. All children who need school based health care should get that health care......

"Tell your congress people that we are asking for a microscopic amount and this is our children we are talking about....$50 million wouldn't even buy the wheel on a jet liner...This [appropriation for operations] is the kind of support we need to keep our clinics open.

"Tell your stories about kids who got back into the classroom because of your care....Tell them about the kids who got health care who otherwise wouldn't have gotten the care they needed. Tell them about the families that don't have health insurance who use your clinic....Your personal experiences and passion will carry the day."

--Advice to SBHC advocates given by Senator Jeff Merkley during his remarks at SBHC Day Rally on Capitol Hill, June 17th 2010
