Call Capitol Hill Today! Help us maximize the impact of our federal SBHC Advocacy Day!
About a dozen Oregonians and members of the Network have joined hundreds of other advocates on Capitol Hill in Washington, DC! They are meeting with Oregon's Legislators to talk about the need to fund operations for school-based health.
Help us get the message to congress that SBHCs need their help. Please email or call your congress people TODAY to show your support for SBHCs.
Here's how:
Call both Senators:
Sen. Jeffery A. Merkley (DEM) Phone: (202) 224-3753 WebSite: http://merkley.senate.gov/ E-Mail: http://merkley.senate.gov/contact/
Sen. Ron Wyden (DEM) Phone: (202) 224-5244 WebSite: http://wyden.senate.gov E-Mail: http://wyden.senate.gov/contact/
Find your federal representative here: http://www.leg.state.or.us/findlegsltr/
What to say:
"I am a constituent calling to ask you to support school-based health centers in Oregon. I urge Sen/Rep. X to support a $50 million appropriation to the authorized school-based health center program by voicing his support to the leadership on the Appropriations Committee.
"Our school-based health centers provide critically important care to children in our state. The economic climate is really hurting our community's ability to support these services. I hope that Sen./Rep. X will work to fund the authorized program. Please let me know what his position is on this."
