Dear Athlete,
With the FASB Fitness Festival 5K fast approaching on Saturday morning, September 10th, there's lots of talk about "tune-up" events for longer races this fall.
Some that pop into mind include the ever growing Bear Chase that has a 10K, a half marathon and, yes, a 50 miler! Who better to talk about "ultra's" than Marshall Ulrich. He'll be at the Runner's Roost Lakewood store Thursday evening, September 8th and again the day before the Bear Chase on September 24th. I had a chance to catch up with him recently at the Roost in Lakewood. Click on the video!

Lonnie Somers, the head of Hallucination Sports and I are starting a new monthly feature in this E:Newsletter, "Everyday Champions". Click on his interview of Brian Remington, our first "Everyday Champion". If you know someone who might be an "Everyday Champion", email Lonnie or me, please!

We're already hard at work in the planning and updating for the 2012 edition of the Kaiser Permanente Colfax Marathon! Soon we will be announcing some exciting course modifications, the new Expo site and other improvements. We're going to have our first full Volunteer Event Committee meeting next month and we're looking for people that would like to volunteer to be a Chair of one of several sub-committees (examples are "Start Line Corrals", "Awards and Medals", "Charity Partner Village", "Running Club Village", "Course Entertainment" and more than 10 other sub-committees)! It's a fun group and lets you have a "behind the scenes" look! Please visit our booth at the Rock 'N Roll Denver Marathon Expo on October 7th and 8th to learn more (and win some prizes!)!
Once again I'll be on the road announcing around the country (and right here on Saturday morning, September 10th at the FASB Fitness Festival 5K in the Denver Tech Center!). If your travels take you to the Danskin Triathlon in Sandy Hook, NJ or the Trek Women Triathlon in Seattle, WA, or perhaps the Road Runner Akron Marathon or the Quad Cities Marathon this month, best of luck and please say hello! |

Ridgegate Duathlon
Join us for the inaugural Ridgegate Duathlon. This challenging but very family friendly event consists of your choice of three great events, a 5K Run, 15K Bike, or take the ultimate challenge and do both for the Duathlon (Note: Duathlon will consist of the 5K Run and 15K bike, due to the nature of the course, there will be just the two events).
This event is located in the beautiful, sustainable community of Ridgegate, Lone Tree, where the city meets the prairie, an eco-smart blend of urban and open. A stunning course, starting with a 5K Run on The Bluffs and finishing at Prairie Sky Park. 15K Bike registrants will commence their race from Prairie Sky Park, circuiting the streets of Ridgegate.
