Dear athlete!
We have one more event that we're proud to bring you this weekend, the Rudolph Ramble 5K! Over the past few years the weather has been less than kind to us but FINALLY it appears we'll have super conditions for you at Denver's City Park this Sunday at 10 a.m.!
Thanks to the hard work of Shannon Koch (Director of Event Management for BKB) and Lonnie Somers (President of Hallucination Sports), we'll have an abundance of refreshments as well as a men's and women's cut technical t-shirt for you! If you haven't signed up yet, do so now to give us the best idea of how many of you are coming!
The remainder of the RunDenver Series continues the third week of January and we encourage you to stay with the series (three events out of five earns a medallion!) to train through the months of January and February and then before you know it, the Runnin' of the Green Lucky 7K Sunday, March 13th!) will be upon all of us!
I want to give a quick "Thank You" to all my training buddies who have kept me going out the door at 5:35 a.m. most mornings (with my dog Wesley even if I'm not home and traveling!), Frank, Peter (Tanui, heading back to Kenya for a couple of well-earned months!), Bill, Paul and Chris! Along with the steadfast encouragement of them and the cheerful prodding of my significant other, Renee Hamilton, training continues to be more than a pleasure!
Those of you that have been "Weekend Warriors" for BKB this year are fantastic and appreciated. Those of you that have entered our events, whether they're events we own or events that terrific charities depend upon for fundraising, you are also most appreciated and I Thank You! and hope you'll be back with your personal goals and energy for our sport of distance running and walking!
If you happen to catch up with me at one of the various events I emcee and announce, please say hello and as some of you have done this past year (saw several friends at the Women's Half Marathon in Scottsdale and then in St Petersburg), let me know what you like and want to see improved in 2011. We'll do our best to make that happen!
Finally, a wish of Holiday Cheer to everyone this month of December! Many of you have weathered a storm this past 12 to 15 months and deserve a "thumbs up" for hanging in there and making a difference in your life and those around you. I hear so many stories of incredible acts of kindness and thoughtfulness by so many of you. The charitable nature of runners and walkers is magnificent. I wish I could mention all of them here!
See you on the roads and trails in 2011!
