Greetings!

Feels good, right? The warm air invites you to get some of those layers of clothes off and to hit the roads and trails! My recent two trips for announcing to High Point, NC (NC Marathon) and Austin, TX (Zooma Women's Half) were exciting events and I trained without sweats on every morning!

Almost every trip I take lets me run with someone fascinating and these trips were no different. When I got to High Point, I did an easy run with Eddie Wooten, the Sports Editor of the News Record in Greensboro. Every community has a newspaper running advocate (we have John Meyer in Denver and Mike Sandrock in Boulder just to name two!). Eddie is the guy in his region. If you're ever there, give him a call...he knows the best places to run and knows the best races to enter! In Austin I ran a not so easy training run with Elyse Braner and Lonnie Somers of Hallucination Sports timing in the hill country and they made me beg for mercy...my hamstring is still screaming! Lots of conversation in the 30 minute run with Eddie and very little (except in the first 5 minutes and the last 5 minutes) in the hour with the cruel ones in Austin who are preparing for Boston!

Never run an actual mile race? Maybe you did in school? If not or want to see what it's like to do one now, do the Mile High Mile on April 18th! It's a flat course downtown at the Capitol with wave starts and a worthy charity. If you're really fast, there's some prize money waiting for you at the finish (sub 4:30 men and sub 6:15 women). Don't be intimidated though...the average time for everyone was just under 10:00!

We changed the Miles For Miracles location from Invesco Field to Highlands Ranch on May 8th and the distance is now 5 Miles. The course is being certified in the first week of April. This event benefits the Professionals Miracles Foundation (a board that I sit on and genuinely appreciate the contribution they make to our metro community!). If you're running the Cherry Creek Sneak, here's another 5 Mile event (a rare distance in our region)!

May 8th has two other first rate events to consider, both 5K's. One is in Edgewater, the Edgerunner 5K and the other is up in Denver's City Park, the Race for Wishes. With so many incredible and important charity events to support, it is a tribute to our state that we have two of the top 10 fittest cities in the country! Each of you are the fittest of the fit so please try to attend one of them!

Later this month BKB's operations staff is heading to the US Half in San Francisco to be part of their team. The race is about to sell out in case you're thinking about it!

Finally, we're looking for relay teams to enter the Kaiser Permanente Colorado Colfax Marathon! Our friend from 9News, Susie Wargin will be running the half on May 16th so please consider putting together a team for the full or joining Susie for the half! By the way, her friend Nancy Weissert has developed a new line of clothing for moms, Run Like a Mother. Check it out!

Hope to see you at the Mile High Mile!
Sincerely,

Creigh Kelley

Colorado's community marathon is right around the corner.

It's Colorado - you've been running all winter!  Now show off your stuff.  You pick the distance, we provide the fun across Denver, Lakewood, and Aurora.  We have tech3 Guys shirts for each runner, medals for every finisher, and age group awards.

Run a full marathon or a half marathon if you love those longer distances.  OR build a relay team with 4 friends and 'compete' against your rivals at work.  Imagine the bragging rights as you cruise by your colleagues.  Covet the 6.6 mile leg for yourself, and give the 3.8 mile leg to the accountant down the hall.  Kids fun runs and Race Expo are on Saturday.
