Please join us at our annual meeting and board member elections on Tuesday, June 12, 2012 from 6:30 - 8:30p at the United Way/Chad Bldg, located at 6699 Murphy Cyn Rd in San Diego. We will be presenting our annual report and our annual financial report, electing a new board for the 2012-2013 year, and will a host a meet and greet with newly elected board members.

Put on your funkiest tropical attire and join us on June 16, 2012, from 6-10pm as we takeover Bird's Surf Shed, located at 1091 Morena Blvd in San Diego, for a night of great, live music, delicious food, fruity libations and a silent auction. For 43 years the Autism Society conference has addressed a range of issues including early intervention, education, employment, behavior, communication, social skills, biomedical interventions and others, across the entire lifespan.
Each year, we bring together professionals, individuals on the spectrum, and family members in a unique environment that fosters learning and connection with the entire autism community. We truly provide something for everyone: sessions for self advocates; vital information for families; and continuing education sessions for speech and hearing professionals, behavior analysts, psychiatrists, and more!

THERE IS STILL SPACE AVAILABLE AT CAMP I CAN PALOMAR
Registration for Camp I CAN, the only summer camp in San Diego County specifically designed for kids and teens on the spectrum, still has some space available at the Palomar location. Campers can still register for:
Week 7 - July 23 thru July 27
Week 8 - July 30 thru August 3
You can register for Camp I CAN via mail, fax or in person, but you must register your child/teen according to the location that they will attend camp. Since they are still accepting applications for the Palomar Camp I CAN, you must register at the Palomar YMCA in Escondido.

"CHILDREN OF THE SUN" PHOTO EXHIBIT HAS OFFICIALLY OPENED AT LINDBERGH FIELD
The "Children of the Sun-Like All of Us" photographic project has officially opened for display at the San Diego International Airport, Terminal Two, Gate 23, through September 2012.
Photographer Natasha Kozlova has created this beautiful photographic homage to our children and has partnered with the Autism Society of San Diego to bring this beautiful work of art to our community.
There are 40,000 people who pass through terminal two daily, so the public awareness opportunity is immense. We at the Autism Society of San Diego have helped Natasha raise funds to bring her labor of love to fruition. Thank you to everyone who donated!

This group is open to all parents, professionals, and members of the community interested in improving the lives of those affected by Autism Spectrum Disorders. The format will generally be a relaxed, "support group" type environment, with an occasional special topic, speaker, or presentation for attendees. The group's demographic includes all ages, home & out of home placements, and all "levels of functioning." There's a wealth of information to be shared by our more "seasoned" families, and it is a welcoming place for those new to the Autism diagnosis.
Please join us after the meeting at Chili's Bar & Grill in Escondido for a bite to eat and some friendly conversation with fellow parents of ASD individuals.
THE NORTH COUNTY SUPPORT GROUP WILL CONTINUE TO MEET DURING THE SUMMER MONTHS. HOWEVER, THERE WILL BE NO MEETING IN JULY DUE TO THE INDEPENDENCE DAY HOLIDAY.

Coffee usually wraps up around 11am - but all are welcome to continue chatting after that.
