Autism Friendly Dining Every Month at Denny's
Enjoy autism friendly dining every third Sunday of the month at Denny's in Del Mar. February's "Meet & Eat"will take place on:

The restuarant manager at Denny's in Del Mar has genrously offered to provide us with accommodations to make restaurant dining fun and relaxing for everyone once a month.
- A large private room where the entrance/exit can be monitored
- Friendly and patient wait staff
- Dedicated fryer and oil for allergy/intolerance concerns
- An "easy atmosphere" where noise and unusual behavior are understood
Please plan to join us for the beginning of what we hop will become a long and happy friendship between Denny's Restuarant in Del Mar and the Autism Society of San Diego

New Support Group for Families & Friends of Adults on the Autism Spectrum
 Come join us on Feburary 8, 2011, for our first meeting to support families of adults, both young and old, with ASD. Share and learn together the challenges and victories as they evolve and transition through life. This group will be led by our chapter president, Shirley Fett, a mother of two young men with autism. We will be meeting the 2nd Tuesday of each month

Admission: $6 AMC Entertainment (AMC) and the Autism Society have teamed up to bring families affected by autism and other disabilities a special opportunity to enjoy their favorite films in a safe and accepting environment on a monthly basis with the "Sensory Friendly Films" program.
In order to provide a more accepting and comfortable setting for this unique audience, the movie auditoriums will have their lights brought up and the sound turned down, families will be able to bring in their own gluten-free, casein-free snacks, and no previews or advertisements will be shown before the movie. Additionally, audience members are welcome to get up and dance, walk, shout or sing - in other words, AMC's "Silence is Golden®" policy will not be enforced unless the safety of the audience is questioned.

Aspies & Friends: An Activity/Social Group for Adults with Aspergers: SuperBowl Party in San Diego
This support/social group provides a casual, safe, family-like environment where young adults can form lifelong friendships and network with one another. Every event will revolve around a fun, low cost activity that will bring the group together while working on the formation of new and existing social skills. This month's meet up will be at a private home of one of the members to watch the Superbowl. North County Family Gym Nights Are Back!
Join other families with autistic children at a Family Fun Gymnastic Night in north county. Our north county Camp I CAN partner, the Palomar Family YMCA, will provide the gymnasium equipment and bounce house, and together we will provide the fun! Bring the entire family for an enjoyable, relaxing night of family recreation. We will have food from El Pollo Loco and drinks, but feel free to bring an item to share potluck style.

MONTHLY AUTISM SUPPORT GROUP: Autism Through The Lifespan
 Please join other parents, caregivers and professionals at this monthly information and support group meeting near downtown San Diego. A joint collaboration between the Autism Society of San Diego and the San Diego Unified School District, this new information and support group will discuss Autism Through the Lifespan. Each month will focus on a different age and stage of development.
Each meeting will feature an expert speaker, an ASA parent mentor and the opportunity to ask questions and network. These meetings are free and open to all.

ALL OUT FOR AUTISM: OUR ANNUAL GALA AND AUCTION TO BENEFIT CAMP I CAN AND OUR AQUATIC PROGRAMSThe Autism Society' San Diego's 11th annual, $100,000 "All Out For Autism" fundraiser gala will be held on Saturday, May 7, 2011, 6-11 p.m., at the Del Mar Racetrack Mission Tower, with VIP red carpet festivities beginning in the Plaza de Mexico. The theme of next year's event will be centered around old Classic Hollywood. Ladies can enter the "Win-Lose-Show" favorite hat contest and enjoy the live and silent auction and raffle, live big band music, swing dance show, comfort food stations thru the eras, and many more details to come! All proceeds benefit Camp I CAN (Camp Including Children with Autism Now), and aquatic programs and services for children and young adults with Autism Spectrum Disorders.
