You can fool all the people some of the time, and some of the people all the time, but you cannot fool all the people all the time.  Abraham Lincoln

TopHappy Spring!

I think all of us have been watching the progress of our building project, and are anxious to see the end result! We are doing our best to post photos of Facebook as the construction progresses. Be sure to check it out!

I hope you all are enjoying your spring break, whether you are traveling or simply having a 'staycation' in Grinnell with family. If you have any vacation photos, news, or items you would like to share, send them to me so I can include in a future newsletter!

Home Shows 2011: Photos

HomeShowA special thank you to all who volunteered and participated in this season's home shows! St. Francis Manor was able to participate in several shows this year: North Mahaska, Brooklyn, Montezuma, and of course, Grinnell. It takes a lot of coordination, and we couldn't have done it without you: Shelley Schrack for baking cookies for each show, Susie Jorth, Betty Hammond, Maleah Hill, Kayla Sherwood, Jessie Schaffner, and all the Marketing Committee at Seeland Park.

The Grinnell Chamber of Commerce quoted on their Facebook page that this year's home show was "Massive turnout at the expo! Thanks to our vendors and residents! Also great ideas at the Entrepreneurs Expo."

Check out our photos from our 2011 Home Shows HERE. Thanks also to Darlene Durand for taking photos at the Grinnell Home Show for us.

OurGrinnell.com also took many photos of the whole event, see them HERE.

Last week's question:
In 1985, St. Francis Manor added eight rooms making it a 54-bed facility. How much did the addition cost?

A: Back then, it only cost $73,000 for eight brand new rooms.
