Cool Girls' Take on Washington, D.C.
Cool Scholars traveled to D.C. to visit colleges and expand their horizons
Cool Girls at the National Campaign to Prevent Unplanned Teen Pregnancy
During the week of June 11th, eight of our Cool Futures participants and two Cool Girls alumnae traveled to Washington, D.C. for an enriching and fun trip. For most of the participants, it was their first time traveling outside of Georgia and riding an airplane. The girls had the opportunity to present their teen pregnancy prevention public service announcement to representatives at the National Campaign To Prevent Unplanned Teen Pregnancy, as well as have dinner with Wendy Lesko the President of School Girls Unite. The fun continued when they had the opportunity to tour the White House and different universities. "Words cannot accurately describe how thankful I am to be given an opportunity to not only invited to a trip to Washington, D.C., but to also go on a number of fun and educational activities. This trip is definitely an experience that I will NEVER forget," said Samantha Thomas.

Cool Girls allows girls opportunities they might otherwise not have. The exposure is awesome, educational, and inspiring. I am delighted to be part of such an organization.
What advice would you share with our Cool Girls?
Money is never a reason to pursue something that you are not passionate about. Find your passion early in life and pursue it. If you do, you will never feel like you are working.
