Having the Time(line) of Your Life
On September 22nd, Facebook made two big announcements at the F8 Development Conference: 800 million (mostly) active users and a LOT of changes to Profiles. Some of these changes include the Timeline, Open Graph, and Gestures. Facebook also announced partnerships with Spotify, Netflix and Hulu. Watch the f8 footage, here.

Tyler Olson (pictured above) was featured on Fox 9 News to discuss Facebook's new changes to privacy and sharing settings.
Facebook announced Timeline during the f8 conference to take over what we know to be our Profile. Timeline is basically an in-depth scrapbook of your life - or at least what you post to Facebook. The plan is that this timeline (or online journal, basically) will replace the traditional profiles as we know them. It has still not been launched due to a legal battle with timelines.com. The Chicago-based company sued before Facebook could release the Timeline feature officially.
Open Graph is a brand new innovation that allows developers to well, develop. Anyone interested in app-development should check this out! Through Open Graph, users' actions and objects are view-able.
With Facebook Gestures, users will be able to [verb] any [noun]. By this, we mean that any book or song that you have read or listened to can be posted and appear as a button on Facebook. For example, a "Watched" button will be used similarly to a "Like" button.
One thing that has rolled out though is the ability to multitask like never before on Facebook. Users can now watch movies, listen to music and read the news all in one place. Facebook has partnered with Spotify, Hulu, Netflix and Yahoo! News to bring you all of their features, without leaving Facebook.
