Welcome to Arlington-Smokey Point Chamber

Greetings!

Jesica Stickles, Board President

Jesica Stickles,

Board President

After reviewing the membership survey results, it is concluded that our membership wants more networking opportunities! So the Ambassador committee is putting together a couple "B2B" (Business to Business) Networking luncheons just for that purpose. It's like Speed Dating, but for your business. Chambers across America do this type of Networking and they are very beneficial. Our first one will be held at our March luncheon 3/8. Plan on meeting a large amount of contacts for your business and learning more about the business you have at your finger tips in your own backyard!

Also, we have another new opportunity. People always ask, "What are the benefits of joining the Chamber?" That is a good question. But there is a long list of things you get as a member. So we have made a presentation we would like to show you, our current members, new members and potential members, so you can get your questions answered. Our first "Member Benefit Orientation" will be held right before our March luncheon at 10:45.

Looking forward to seeing you all soon and learning about each of your businesses!

LUNCHEON SPONSORSHIP

Each month, the Arlington-Smokey Point Chamber of Commerce holds a luncheon at the Medallion Hotel.  The luncheon is a great opportunity to network with local business leaders.  It is also a time to promote your business. One way to do that is to sponsor the luncheon.  For $200.00 you will be given a 10 minute maximum commercial at the beginning of the program which can be used to announce a special promotion, event you are planning, or just to explain your business and what you do.  This can be done by delivering a prepared speech or by presenting a power point presentation.

In addition, you will be provided with a sponsor table that attendees can browse and pick up addition information after the luncheon is over.

Don't forget, our luncheons are videotaped and delivered to the Arlington residents on cable channel 21, usually by the following week and is broadcast until the next luncheon.  The program is shown three times during the early afternoon and evening.
If you would like to sponsor a luncheon, please contact Michael Prihoda at the Chamber office.  360.659.5453

FIND YOUR 60 SECOND PITCH

Helpful Networking Tips for B2B Chamber Connect

Rather than bumble your way through an introduction and waste your moment in the spotlight, practice your "speech" and memorize it.  Your confidence will improve and you will be able to say a lot more in the time allotted.

A good 60 second pitch can be constructed by the following parts:

1.      Your name, title and company.
2.      The values you create for your clients, by describing a

typical problem, what activities you used to solve it and the

         actual result.
3.      You can finish up by including something about your goals

and the results you wish to achieve from the meeting.

PHONE DIRECTORY ANNOUNCEMENT

The Arlington-Smokey Point Chamber of Commerce will not be producing a phone directory this year.  The Chamber board has made this decision based primarily on attention to the bottom line.  The fact of the matter is that rising production costs and postage and a dramatic decline in advertisers has gone from making money for the chamber into a barely break even project.
The need for a phone directory has now been filled with the arrival of the Action Pages Arlington phone book.  The Chamber will consider a "Chamber Membership" directory in the future.
Thank you to all who have participated in this project over the years.
