Welcome to Arlington-Smokey Point Chamber
Greetings!

Jesica Stickles,
Board President |
Happy New Year! With the New Year comes a change in the board of directors. At our last chamber luncheon, we introduced the new slate of officers and heading the list is our new president, Jesica Stickles. If you don't already know Jesica, here is her bio. Jesica Stickles is the Co-owner of Stickles Press located in Arlington. Jesica and her husband opened their local business in 2005. They have steadily grown their customer base with competitive products, excellent customer service and networking.
Jesica is involved in many community/ non-profit organizations, serving these organizations at the Board level in positions ranging from Secretary to President.
Since joining the Chamber 5 years ago Jesica rolled up her sleeves and joined in to help. She has been a Board of Director since 2008, during her term she was the founding member of the Ambassador Committee to welcome new businesses and give existing members new ways to network and show case their companies. Jesica also chairs the Government Affairs Committee.
Her goals for 2011 are to move the Chamber office location to a more central location, strengthen the support and work along with the Downtown Arlington Business Association, strengthen the chamber financially and most of all, to help our businesses grow! Congratulations Jesica and a special thank you to all of our volunteer board members. Michael Prihoda, Executive Director

WEST ARLINGTON PLAN The West Arlington Sub Area Plan is a City-initiated project that is an amendment to the City of Arlington Comprehensive Plan. The Sub Area Plan will guide future growth and development in the Smokey Point, West Bluff and Island Crossing neighborhoods. The plan includes a number of goals that pertain to transportation, housing, commercial development, public spaces, building types, building placement, civil services, parks and natural environment.
The Sub Area encompasses approximately 1,005 acres and houses approximately 3,700 people with a mix of commercial and residential uses. The residents in the area desire to promote and develop a unique "sense of place" and enhance the area's livability.
The City has conducted several neighborhood meetings with residents and business owners to learn about challenges in the area and to listen to their ideas. From these meetings, a plan has been developed and it can be found on the City of Arlington Website. Go to www.arlingtonwa.gov On the City's main page click on the departments tab, then click on planning, and then click on West Arlington Sub-Area Plan. A Public Hearing on the Plan will be conducted by the City Council on January 18, 2011 at 7:00 p.m. in the City Council Chambers.
