Last year, as part of the celebration, a special book entitled  A Celebration of Women was created providing a forum to publicly honor those who have made contributions to the advancement of women and in particular women's philanthropy. This year the Foundation has decided to expand the purpose of the book to include an opportunity for individuals or groups to say thank you to the women that have molded them and our community.

I will be honoring a special person in my life and am writing to invite you to join me. I am choosing to support this honor with a personal contribution of $300 to WFA, but you may opt to invite friends to join you in honoring your designee. What a special way to show how much you appreciate someone!

The mission of WFA is to promote philanthropy among women and to help women and girls achieve their full potential. Isn't it exciting to tap into the potential of women all over the State and to encourage our young girls to grow into powerful leaders?

The book will be unveiled at the annual POWER OF THE PURSE  luncheon, October 21, 2011, in Governor's Hall IV of the Statehouse Convention Center. The event is very well attended with extraordinary speakers each year. This year our special guest is Abigail Disney, philanthropist and film-maker. WFA will also be honoring Judy Tenenbaum with the "Woman of the Year in Philanthropy" award. RESERVATIONS are available on the WFA website for the event at $100 each or $1,000 for a table of ten. All attendees will receive a copy of the TRIBUTE BOOK A Celebration of Women. All those who are honored in the book will be mentioned in the rolling tributes prior to the luncheon program.
