About WFA
Women's Foundation of Arkansas is dedicated to improving the economic viability of women and girls through our focused philanthropic efforts in the area of education.
Our mission is to promote philanthropy among women and to help women and girls achieve their full potential.
We leverage our grant-making to educate women and girls about STEM career fields and life skills. This includes helping women enter the work force at a family sustaining wage and preparing girls for non-traditional careers throughout the state.

WFA Grant Making
In 1999, WFA began awarding mini-grants to programs throughout Arkansas that serve women and girls.
Since that time, 81 programs have been funded for almost $200,000.
The Women's Foundation is currently working to grow the WFA Grant-making Endowment Fund so that we might provide increased support to deserving organizations currently addressing the states' greatest needs for women and girls.
Funding is made available to human service, educational, and charitable groups in every corner of the state.

WFA Girls of Promise
Since 2000, WFA's Girls of Promise initiative has introduced thousands of 8th grade girls across Arkansas to information about careers in areas related to economics, science, technology, engineering & mathematics (ESTEM) while giving them the opportunity to meet with women professionals for greater understanding of their own potential and power.
These conferences encourage girls to pursue academic excellence in their high school and college years.
Attendees get to meet other girls like themselves and realize that it's okay to be a bright, motivated girl with big dreams.

 Keynote Speaker
 | Abigail Disney
ABIGAIL E. DISNEY is a filmmaker, philanthropist, and scholar with a longtime passion for women's issues and peace building.
Abigail & her husband Pierre Hauser formed The Daphne Foundation in 1991 as a way of adding to the discipline and focus of their charitable giving, and in order to guarantee that their giving could continue in good times and in bad.
Regarding the formation of the Daphne Foundation, Abigail stated, "When we created the Daphne Foundation in 1991 we wanted to be, more than anything, useful. We wanted to be useful to our grantees and to other funders, but most of all useful in the fight against poverty's wide array of effects on real human lives. We did not know much then, nor do we pretend to have all the answers now, but we are proud of how far we have come in pursuing our original guiding intentions. [...] Our grantees are an extraordinarily diverse group of bold and inventive service providers and organizers who every day advocate for the city's most disadvantaged people. It is a privilege to partner with them, an honor to stand with them."
DOCUMENTARY SCREENING: WFA will be screening Abigail's first film, Pray the Devil Back to Hell, the evening of Friday, October 21 at Heifer Village. Limited Reservations will be available ($25 ea). Watch for more information!
