Greetings!
We are so excited to report that there were 800 women (and more than a few men!) present at the Power of the Purse lucheon last month! Not only did we raise $38,000 that will support WFA's core programs, but we learned how education was the key for Keynote Speaker Gena Lovette to follow her dreams and honored our 2009 Woman of the Year in Philanthropy, Alice Mahony! The video highlighting why WFA chose to honor Ms. Mahony is posted on our website, so please take a few minutes to watch it if you haven't already.

The Women's Foundation of Arkansas and the Center for Community Philanthropy at the Clinton School of Public Service are teaming up to present "Giving Circles: Using our Collective Power for Strategic Impact" on November 19th.
The workshop will be held at the Clinton School of Public Service from 9:00 a.m. - 3:00 p.m. There is no fee to attend; however, we do ask that you RSVP so that we have enough lunches. Please RSVP to Amanda Potter Cole by phone (501-374-2732) or by e-mail ( apotter@womensfoundationarkansas.org).

From the Executive Director's Desk
If you were present at the Power of the Purse luncheon, you heard me announce the Women of Worth campaign - ushering in the Women's Foundation's second decade and raising funds for the WFA's endowments. Building on the vision and efforts of our 100 Founders in its first decade, the Foundation is seeking 200 women to give at least $2000 to help grow the endowments and position the Foundation for an even more productive second decade.
I am happy to announce that one special woman - who asks to remain anonymous - has met and surpassed this challenge, pledging $50,000 toward the campaign effort! We are honored by her commitment to WFA's mission and her generous demonstration of understanding the impact the Foundation can make in the lives of the women and girls of our state through its effective grant-making and programs such as the Girls of Promise. I am also happy to report that to date, eight women have committed to the $2000 challenge. We are well on our way to our goal of 200!
I'd like to mention the Joan Rule Campbell Girls of Promise Endowment. This fund was established by the board in honor of Joan's work in helping create and champion WFA's Girls of Promise Program. Joan's family members have pledged over $6000 to this endowment fund. We are humbled by their generosity in support of this endowment. The Foundation is pleased to pay tribute to Joan and her work through establishment of this fund which will provide funding for the Girls of Promise conference series each year, ensuring that the program will endure for years to come.
Thank you to all of you who have contributed to WFA in the past and those that continue to do so. You have touched the lives of so many women and girls around our state through your gifts. We invite you to help us celebrate the Foundation's second decade by taking part in the Women of Worth campaign. Watch your mailboxes! Lynnette
