Greetings!

Cheers!

The pumpkins have arrived along with Indian summer in Half Moon Bay.  It's so fun to see families arriving in the fields to choose the perfect pumpkins for carving and decorating.  Everyone in pumpkin hunting clothes, scarves flying behind as the little ones dash off to their treasure.

Fall brings with it the beginning of the social season; Galas, parties and holiday festivities abound and it just keeps going through January!  Remember during this busy time to keep your balance both with activity and in your home.  It's so important to provide yourself with a place of sanctuary that will nourish you in the midst of your daily activities and even more important when the joys and obligations of a busy social season can be overwhelming.

If you don't already have one this may be a time to create a meditation corner, or a nice space to 'just be' for some quiet down-time.  Even 5 minutes spent in a comfy, cozy, quiet space can provide you with peace and balance... imagine what you could do with 20 or 30 minutes of rejuvenation!

For me, Fall also brings an extra dose of Gratitude.  While I practice living in gratitude every day, there is something about the arrival of this season that puts me in a heightened awareness of all of the blessings that I have.  One of the largest is that of amazing and wonderful clients.  It is through you that I am inspired and have the opportunity to create special environments and spend time with lovely people. A Great Big Shout Out to all of you!  It is my joy and pleasure to help you with your space.  Thank you also for all of the wonderful referrals to friends, family and colleagues!  Your support is a gift that I cherish, thank you.

Portola Valley Ranch
Hyver dine
Working with a primarily neutral palette and great texture; this project provides the homeowner with a peaceful and comfortable space in which to entertain family and friends.

The dining room above has a custom Walnut top and iron base that seats 12.  Two sideboards for serving, topped with a custom chandelier from Murray Iron Works.

Scale is always important and I think we've struck the perfect balance here, giving the room a comfortable and human scale with a bit of glamour and drama.

Through 2010 & 2011 it has been my great privilege to serve as Chapter President for IFDA Northern California.  International Furnishings and Design Association is a not-for-profit organization promoting philanthropy, education and collaboration.

This was our 2nd year co-sponsoring with SFDC (San Francisco Design Center) in a month long celebration of Fabric.  Through the month of September we offered the design industry 14 programs with great headliners such as Barbara Barry and amazing continuing education opportunities.

You can see more about this amazing month at the SFDC blog http://designwire.sfdesigncenter.com/2011/09/
and you can send me a note and be sure to be included in the IFDA quarterly newsletter!
