There is a question often asked in therapy sessions: If you woke up tomorrow and everything was exactly the way you wanted it to be, what would that look like? The next question to ask yourself is how do you take the steps necessary to get to that end zone? That's the work that needs to happen daily, moment by moment, choice by choice, in order to manifest what you truly want out of your life.
During these first few days of January, take a few moments in quiet space to ask yourself that question. What would that end zone look like for you? Grab a sheet of paper and write down, in detail, your answers. Who is sharing this space with you? Where are you? What do you look like? What are you wearing? What is your schedule like? And finally, how do you feel when you have arrived? Really allow yourself to go there and visualize right down to the smallest detail what that image of success, happiness and peace looks like for you.
The key factor is that this is YOUR exercise and has to make you happy- it can't be someone else's vision of success.
When you are doing what you truly want to be doing, your family benefits, your relationships deepen, and you feel healthier and more alive. It's like putting the oxygen mask on yourself first before you can help someone else on the plane.
Keep it simple this January. Take a few minutes and invest in yourself. What goals do you want to achieve this year? Write them down and keep them handy so you can look at them monthly, even daily, to see where you are at. If you run into some obstacles, view them as simply that. The Universe may be checking in on you to see how devoted you are to manifesting peace and success in your life.
Lastly, trust that manifestation does happen. It blooms from the little choices we make daily that are in alignment with our goals and dreams. Be patient. Have faith that somewhere along the journey, you will know you have arrived.
Happy January and Happy 2011. May you realize your true potential this year.
