| June, the marker of a new season, reminds me of letting go of STUFF that weighs us down and opening to new ideas, habits, people and experiences. It sounds exciting, doesn't it? Yet, it can be so difficult. It can be even painful. For to consciously choose to embrace new patterns of thought, behaviors and feelings means we need to let go of what and who we have been for likely a very long time.
What do you need to let go of right now?
Is it guilt? Which has no positive effect on us in the present moment.
Behaviors that you fall back on again and again and continue to make excuses for? Yes, there are payoffs in doing this - look for them, they are there.
Friends that no longer support who you have become or where you are going? It's freeing to take some things off of your calendar if you allow yourself to - it often leads to better time spent elsewhere.
Perfection? What's really going to happen if you dare to be okay with what is and show your true and beautifully imperfect self to the world?
What do you feel called to do, change or be this season? Pay attention to that little voice that gently chides you to change direction, sometimes in reverse, other times to move forward at greater distances than you thought you were capable of. Ask yourself in the moments of your day- am I acting like who I want to become? Am I in alignment with my dreams and desires? Check in with yourself in the morning and decide what type of a day you want to create for yourself. Weave that colorful creation through the busyness of work, family, activities and those in between moments. Then, check in with yourself nightly and reflect on how you feel. Did you deviate from your intention or did you create something really wonderful to look at in your mind's eye at the close of the day?
Trust in that voice of intuition of what you may need to let go of. See where it leads you this new season.
Happy June!
Jill
