Greetings!

It has been an unseasonably busy summer at Trainspotters, hence the lack of an August Newsletter - our apologies for that. In addition to the now regular truckloads of lighting coming in from Eastern Europe, we've had some great hauls of stock from the UK- such as an amazing run of reclaimed iroko laboratory worktop, a large quantity of 1940/50's James Leonard desk and chair sets from a northern university, and a fantastic run of prismatic wall lights from an East London factory. We are also within days of unveiling our re-issue of the Dunlop pendant light after months in development. We originally salvaged hundreds of these from 'Fort Dunlop' in Birmingham a few years ago and sold out of them fast. Our re-make is manufactured entirely in Birmingham to the same high standard as the originals - heavy spun steel, vitreous enamel and bespoke cast aluminium galleries. We're doing them in 4 colours of enamel and they are looking amazing- watch this space....

1940/1950's desk sets
We have an incredible run of these 1940/1950's 'Esavian' desk and chair sets designed by James Leonard. Salvaged from a university in the north of England. Sturdy aluminium bases, the chairs upholstered in leatherette and the tables topped in iroko.

Dimensions: Tables measure 118cm (46.5") wide x 56cm (20") deep x 76cm (30") high.

Reclaimed iroko labtop
We have a large quantity of reclaimed hardwood (iroko) worktops removed from school and university science laboratories across the country. All unusually large and clean lengths with no sink cut-outs and minimal bunsen burner holes. Make great kitchen worktops. Supplied 'as is', so it needs sanding and finishing to taste in situ by your joiner. Please note that every sheet is different, so buying reclaimed labtop is ideally a hands-on business.

Prismatic wall lights
A nice run of polished aluminium and prismatic glass lights mounted on bespoke steel and cast-iron wall brackets. 1950's, made by Coughtrie's of Glasgow. Each light fitted with a new bulbholder.

Dimensions: 25.5cm (10") diameter x 40.5cm (16") projection off wall.

Dunlop pendant lights
Due to popular demand we are working on a high-quality exact reproduction of these pendant lights we salvaged from the Dunlop factory in Birmingham 3 years ago. Made in Birmingham to a very high standard. We will be vitreous enamelling them in white, grey, black and green. The first batch is very nearly with us now.

Dimensions: 43cm (17") diameter x 43cm (17") drop.

Prismatic wall lights
We have an unusually large run of these 1950's cast-aluminium and prismatic glass wall lights made by Lacent. Removed from a factory in East London. Each light fitted with a new bulbholder.

Dimensions: 24cm (9.5") tall x 12cm (4.75") deep

1930's French pendant lights
We're delighted to have unearthed another large run of these fabulous 1930's French street lamps that we've refurbished and converted to pendant lights. Cast-aluminium and brass with new convex glass facsias. Each light supplied ready to hang with new fixed bulbholder, 2m polished steel chain, a nickel ceiling hook plate & 2m braided flex in a choice of colours - please see attached image.

Cast-iron Prismalux wall lights
A run of nice little 1930/40's 'Prismalux' wall lights by Wardle, with prismatic Holophane glass. Burnished and fitted with new bulbholders.

Dimensions: 24cm (9.5") tall x 18cm (7") wide x 13cm (5") deep.

Circular cast-iron wall lights
A run of 1940's circular industrial wall lights with brass grilles, removed from a factory in East London. Made by Revo. Burnished and fitted with new bulholders.
