Herbal Product of the Month

Long Dan Xie Gan Tang (Gentiana Drain Fire Formula)

Long Dan
Summers can cause excessive heat in the body which can lead to irritability, rapid pulse and even high fever. The temperatures in July lend to  excessive sweating which exhausts internal energy (qi) and body fluids manifesting as thirst. Long Dan Xie Gan Tang, also known as "The Snake and The Dragon", has been widely used by the Chinese to drain fire (Yang) and damp-heat (Yin) from the liver and lower body improving conditions like inflammation, infection, headache, and more. The main ingredients in this formula are Rehmannia Root, Scutellaria, Gardenia Fruit and Asian Plantain Seed.

To see if Gentiana Drain Fire Formula (Long Dan Xie Ga Tang) is right for you, call PIHMA's clinic today at (602) 274-1885 for an herbal consultation. Because everyone is different herbal products are sold only after consultation with an herbal intern.

PIHMA Expands With Daytime Track

PIHMA will be offering a week-day track in addition to its weekend/evening degree programs.  PIHMA, the Valley's only accredited college of Asian medicine now in its 17th year, offers 4-year Master of Science degrees in Acupuncture and Oriental Medicine, and has traditionally offered weekend and evening courses to accommodate the working adult.  "We are now seeing a greater need for our programs to be offered during the daytime" stated Chief Academic Officer, Dr. Sue Roe. "The new daytime track allows PIHMA to reach those who may find daytime attendance a better fit with their schedule.  Those interested in applying should contact Yvette Moran at (602) 274-1885 x 102 or ymoran@pihma.edu for more information regarding courses, financial aid, and to schedule a tour of our campus and clinic."
