Firefighters host free Child Car Seat Checkup at Station #1 on Sept. 26
If your child is under the age of two, should that child be in a front-facing or rear -facing child safety seat? At what age may your child ride in the front seat? How long does your child need to stay in a car seat or booster seat? Burleson firefighters are learning the answers to all of those questions and more as they go through National Child Passenger Safety Certification Training to become certified child passenger safety technicians. The Burleson Fire Department will become the first fire department in Johnson County to have all firefighters certified in child passenger safety. The A shift firefighters will complete the 32-40 hour training by Sept. 26, then will host a free Car Seat Checkup at Burleson Fire Station #1, 828 S.W. Alsbury Blvd., 11 a.m.-2 p.m. Make an appointment by calling 682-885-2634. Your child must be present for the appointment. Those without appointments will be seen on a first come, first serve basis. The checkup is hosted by the fire department, Safe Kids and Cook Children's. Read More

If you are delinquent in paying your City utility bill, you may get a courtesy call
If you are delinquent in paying your utility statement (water, sewer and solid waste services) from the City of Burleson, you may receive an automated courtesy phone call, email or text from the City starting next week. The City's Blackboard Connect emergency phone notification system is now being used to notify customers that there is an issue with their utility account. This is being done in an effort to cut down on the number of water cutoffs due to non-payment. The phone calls, emails and text messages will be made to the telephone number that is on record with the City's utility customer service division. If you receive a notification, that means your account is past due and that your home has been placed on the water cutoff list due to non-payment. The message will state that according to City records there is an issue with the utility account associated with the telephone number that is being called. The account holder will be advised to call Utility Customer Service at 817-426-9601 within 48 hours to resolve the issue. Read more |
